What
is a Free Solar Panel Scheme?
In
this scheme the farmer can rent out 1/3 of his farm for installing solar
panels. Instead, private companies will pay them Rs 1 lakh per acre. Under the
scheme, the farmer will lease his farm to the company for 25 years. In the
meantime the company will pay regularly every year. So after 25 years, the
companies will give Rs 4 lakh per acre to the farmers. This will quadruple
their earnings.
Earnings
can also be made by selling electricity
The
solar panel scheme is also beneficial for farmers whose land is barren and dry.
They can generate electricity from solar energy by installing solar panels on
the land and also earn money every month by selling it to various government
and non-government power companies. One megawatt solar plant requires 6 acres
of land. It can also generate 13 lakh units of electricity. The farmer can also
make a good profit by selling it. You can also avail the benefits by
registering under the Prime Minister's Solar Panel Scheme.
Benefits
of the scheme
Under
the solar panel scheme, private companies will pay farmers Rs 1 lakh per acre
as rent. So from the 25th year, the rent of 1 acre farm will be Rs 4 lakh.
The farmer does not have to incur any cost in installing the solar panel. Private
companies will apply the PPP model at their own expense.
Solar
panels will be installed at a height of 3.5 m from the ground. So that the
farmers will not have any problem in cultivating there.
Farmers
will get 1000 units of free electricity on giving 1 acre of land. It can also
sell it to a company or government if it generates more electricity than it
needs.
