A journey from the production of horticultural and medicinal
crops to prosperity in non-fertile and fallow lands through the use of
technology
The Government of Gujarat is striving for sustainable
development in the field of agriculture and horticulture. Using irrigation and
farm product technology, farmers in the state are cultivating a variety of high-value horticultural crops.
The government has announced a policy for agricultural
development on fallow lands. In order to cultivate horticultural as well as
medicinal crops on non-cultivable non-cultivable government fallow land, in the
first phase, out of the land available in Kutch, Surendranagar, Patan,
Sabarkantha and Banaskantha districts, the allotted block/survey numbers will
be allotted on a maximum 30-year lease.
The use of technology will benefit progressive farmers,
able-bodied individuals, organizations, companies or partnership firms seeking
to cultivate.
For this, the project will be from a minimum of 15 acres to a
maximum of 1000 acres (20 hectares to 200 hectares).
